“The site Židovar is situated in the vicinity of the village Orešac, Southern Banat district, Serbia. It is a multi-layered prehistoric site of the tell type, with significant settlement remains from the period of the Late La Tène. Both the Eastern Celtic and the neighboring Dacian populations recognized it as a convenient place to settle.”

“Židovar treasure – a large hoard comprising more than 2 kg of silver jewelry. The treasure was discovered among the ruins of the Late La Tène settlement in the south section of the plateau in the course of the excavation campaign in September 2001. […] The amber beads were elements of lavish and long necklaces (if all of the beads were put on one string, its length would be around 2 m) and their total weight is around 100 g. […]

Te most luxurious pieces from the hoard are two small cylindrical boxes with lids made of rather thick silver foil and decorated in the filigree and granulation technique. Tere was yet another box of this type in the hoard, of which a just as lavishly decorated lid is preserved. Particularly interesting is the best preserved cylindrical box, which was attached to the short chain made of finely entwined silver wire. Te lid of the box is lavishly decorated with finely interlaced filigree wire around larger and smaller silver granules surrounding circular settings for red stone or glass paste. A similar combination of filigree, granulation and circular settings for glass paste was also used on the rectangular silver plate attached to the base of the box.” [La Tène Settlement Židovar near Vršac, Serbia, Marija Ljustina https://www.academia.edu]
