Jewelry from Syria, Assyrian period

The Middle Assyrian period in Syria dates from 1350 to 900 BCE. Tell Sabi Abyad is an archaeological site in Northern Syria. During the Middle Assyrian period, a so-called fortress was built there. In total 39 graves were found, 25 of them included jewelry. The majority of finds were beads made of stones, faience or bronze, only a few were made of gold or silver.

The most significant find is a gold earring. Almost identical was found in Assur (now Iraq).
