Flint, a widespread mineral with a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale has been used by man since prehistory as a material for making tools, weapons and for starting fire. This stone has a very nice conchoidal fracture, comes in white, brown and black colors. In addition to its practical function, it has also been used as an amulet since ancient times.

Flints found on the Bug River in Niemirów, near Mielnik, Poland.
