Palmyra, funerary relief of siblings Baalatga and Olais; 114 CE [d/b]

“Photographs were taken in the Hermitage (St. Petersburg). Funeral relief depicting a brother and sister. From Syrian Palmyra, 114 AD (426 Seleucid / Greek era). Donated to the Hermitage in 1913 by the Antiochian Patriarch. The inscription made using the letters of the Palmyrian Aramaic alphabet reads: Ah! Baalatga and Olais, children of Bonne, son of Sokai. In the sour month of 426, these two images of Olisa and Baalatga, son of Sokai, son of Belshur, son of Hairan.”
