Hair ornament, Tang Dynasty, China [d/b]

“The Tang Dynasty [618-907 CE] hairpin pictured here is decorated in a folded style that seems to reflect some connection to Central Asia or even Iran. Since at least the sixth century, fine hair accessories and plaques have been made, with filigree, beads and precious stones or pearls inlaid with gold pieces or pin frames. These techniques were once used on a necklace found in the tomb of nine-year-old princess Li Jingxun of the Sui Dynasty.”
