The burial of the Sarmatian ruler contained big amount of artifacts made of gold and turquoise, including weapon, belt plaques and a buckle, horse harness, was discovered in the Astrakhan region, near the village of Nikolskoye, Russia. In the “golden” burial lay a man over two meters tall, which is completely uncharacteristic for the nomads of this period. The grave was covered with a heavy cloth with golden stripes.
