Pompeiopolis, a mosaic with a goddess; 3rd-4th century [d/b]

Mosaic of a “goddess” from a Roman villa in the ancient city of Pompeiopolis is kept now at the Kastamonu Museum, Turkey. The city was founded in 64 BCE by the Roman General Pompeius Magnus.

According to archaeological data, the villa was built at the beginning of the 3rd century CE, and was used for about 900 years.

Notice the diadem, earrings, bejeweled belt, scepter, fruit, halo and red shawl.
