In the mausoleum crypt at Šarkamen (east Serbia) was discovered a set of gold female jewelry: two earrings, three necklaces, three rings, two rings for a braid and one pendant, most probably from a necklace. It is supposed that the jewelry belonged to the mother of Maximinus Daia, Roman emperor from 310 to 313 CE.
The necklace consisting of nine big medallions and eight preserved segments of gold sheet, and is decorated with the blue paste which imitates the semi-presious stones.
The width of the oval segments is 0,8 to 1 cm. The total length of thus reconstructed necklace is about 32 cm without the missing clasp. 3 ringlets on the back of each round element.
