“The floor mosaic decorated the gallery south of the peristyle of the so-called “House of the Deer”. It survives nowadays in relatively good condition. The floor is divided into rhombuses in which are depicted Nile motifs (such as ducks, fish), fruits or vegetables (pomegranate, citrus, fig, pumpkin), a horn, Pan’s ???, a wheel with eight spokes, etc. In the center inscribed in a square is the medal containing Fortune. It is framed by a ??? and a twisting band. The frontal figure looks sideways. Her dark curly hair is decorated with leaves and flowers and her head is covered by the towering diadem. In the right hand she probably holds a bouquet and in the left a cornucopia with wheat and fruits. She wears a blue tunic and a deep red robe, in which various products of the earth are presented.
According to J. Balty (1997), the work belongs to the 6th century based on excavation data and stylistic features.”
