Part of a belt from Iran, 4th-5th century. Gold, lapis lazuli and garnet.
Center stone diameter: 6.5 cm; belt length: 32.5 cm
Lapis lazuli – round in the center and oval on the sides – in a gold setting with an ornament of small triangles and beaded rims along the edge; by means of a thin articulated joint, the stones are fastened to plates decorated with triangles made of grain.
