“A large number of clay figurines from Cyprus have been found in the Heraion as votive offerings to the Great Goddess. Among the most elegantof the type is the figurine of the standing frontal female figure with groomed hair and striking jewellery. Her arms are held down along the body, which is covered by a filmy fitted garment. Traces of light violet and red paint are visible on the surface. Early 6th cent. BC.”
