Belt ornaments from Syria, 4th century, are made of silver decorated with ornaments that are partly gilded and partly filled with niello. A buckle with an embossed ornament is in the Hermitage Museum collection, it was found during excavations in Chersonesos / Chersonesus (Crimea). It has dimensions 7.6 х 6.4 cm. Second ornament, from the Dumbarton Oaks collection, is said to be purchased in 1937 from Bustros family (Beirut, Lebanon). Dimensions 7.2 x 7 cm
