“In the ancient cultural layers of the settlement of Kultobe, unique artifacts were found – a treasure trove of jewelry dating back to the Kangju era. Kultoba gold items are earrings, jewelry pieces of various shapes, stripes in the form of “flattened bells”, as well as items of unknown purpose in the form of narrow thin plates bent into a ring.
Of particular interest is a bronze item in the form of a small bell with an iron tongue. Experts believe that such bronze bells are a detail of amulet sets, consisting of various large beads, bones, etc., designed to ward off all sorts of troubles and misfortunes.
Miniature bronze pendants made in the form of seeds or fruits of plants, possibly embodying the ideas of fertility, are original. They have a convex triangular shape. The presence of miniature rings indicates that they were included in the necklace set.
Also at the site of Kultobe, carnelian threads were found, which have a trapezoidal shape with channels in the center along the length, rounded turquoise glass beads with through holes in the center, a necklace made of beads of heterogeneous material, which combines Egyptian faience, paste, coral and other stones. . The necklace consists of more than 20 multi-colored stones of different diameters.
The Kultoba jewelry collection includes items from later eras – silver and gold earrings, rings, bracelets and beads of various shapes and materials.”
