“The body of the bottle consists of two soldered hollow halves. The place of soldering is masked by a wide belt in the form of a roller bent from a profiled plate. The body of the bottle is made of silver, the lid is made of a golden bent plate. The vessel is decorated with four inserts in almond-shaped nests located on the walls of the lid, and one in a round nest at the top (three inserts on the wall have been preserved). Around the nests are grained rims. The upper and lower edges of the lid are bordered by “pigtail” belts. The Kotovo find differs from the previous bottles in the biconical shape of the body and a higher neck. However, despite all the originality, the bottle from the burial near the settlement of Kotovo is distinguished by traditional features inherent in the Bosporan group of products, which, first of all, was expressed in its decorative design. Probably, it is also a product of one of the Bosporus jewelry workshops.” I.P. Zasetskaya, Golden bottle of the Sarmatian era
