“It is well-known that in ancient China Parthian tapestry fabric and carpets as well as carpets and bedspreads from the Syrian weaving factories were highly valued (Lubo-Lesnichenko, 1994). Many such articles found on the Silk Road and in the burial mounds of the Xiongnu elite support the data contained in the written sources.
